Solorunner Events

Solorunner Events is dedicated to organizing quality running and walking events in the Portland area. Here’s a closer look at some of the folks who make the events happen.

Christine, Race Director
I am a Mother of 2, a Marathoner and Half Marathoner a Triathlete, and I have a passion for health and fitness. I was an event planner for 10 year and owned my own company. I left the industries to raise my two children now 11 and 14. When both children were old enough I started running again and thanks to Portland Fit I became a marathoner. I was given the opportunity to become an assistant coach with them for 4 years. During that time I was looking to get into race directing but could not find anyone to hire me.

“I will work for experience.” I was given opportunity number two by the Oregon Road Runners and without them my experience may not have happened. I become the race director for “Up the Lazy River”, and after the first year I knew that this was my calling and my dream became a reality. Last year I directed my own event, “The Tualatin River 10 Miler” with a lot of support from friends and family. Without them, this would not have been possible. I am grateful for those who have walked into my life at the very moment I needed them. Please take a moment to read about below….. You can’t have a race with out the many volunteers who choose not to race but to support those who do, and I am truly grateful to all of them. I want to say thank to all of the runners and walkers who came out for the Inaugural and believed in an unknown race director and an unknown race because without those runners and walkers we may not have been back!  Thanks to you for stopping by, and I hope to see you in May…

Sally, Project Manager/Events
Sally Lynch is a local project manager working with non-profit organizations in Special Event fundraising. Her primary focus is in race event management including Race for the Cure, 2008 Gorge Games, Jingle Bell Run, Relay for Life, Joints in Motion Marathon Training, Willamette Valley Relay, Walk for the Wildwood, Red-Nosed Rundeer, Special Olympics Oregon Polar Plunge and the Tualatin River 10-Mile Run/Walk. Her hobby is walking half marathons and she completes about 25 a year. She writes a regular column in WalkAbout Magazine called “Where’s Sally” highlighting her half marathon choices. As the Course Manager for the TR-10 Sally designed this route through the beautiful three-park system joining Tualatin, Durham and Tigard. The course follows the Tualatin River, passing wildlife wetlands, wooded areas, creeks and butterfly gardens along paved and natural trail paths.

Teri, Communications Coordinator
Mother of two, aspiring ultrarunner and computer junkie.  I’m passionate about running and addicted to social media, but I rarely tweet while I run. Find me on Twitter at @runnerteri.
